SD Parent Connection is the parent information and training center in South Dakota for families of children with disabilities. South Dakota School for Blind and Visually Impaired
SDSBVI prepares students to step forward with confidence and a vision of lifetime success. It has been designated to meet the individual needs of students in South Dakota who are visually impaired, blind or deaf-blind. As a part of the state’s educational system, the school does not charge for tuition, room and board, or fees for any services provided by the school or staff, including assessments.

South Dakota School for the Deaf
SDSD’s mission includes consultation to families and educational teams statewide and comprehensive student evaluations including audiology and hearing screening. SDSD serves as a resource for families and local schools by providing a specialist in the education of deaf and hard of hearing children as a member of the educational team.

Our experienced team of experts offers training, technical assistance, research and evaluation to help people with disabilities, families, health care professionals and educators. We advocate for increased self-determination, independence and satisfying quality of life. DakotaLink
DakotaLink is South Dakota’s program for linking you to assistive technology devices and services in situations where your day-to-day functioning is impaired due to a disability, injury or aging. Assistive technology devices are any product that help you overcome a functional limitation. Devices can be as simple as pencil grips or as sophisticated at cars with driver adaptations. These devices help ensure access and full participation in the community, school, workplace and home.

Stop Sexual Violence and Human Trafficking Agencies

Call to Freedom works to create a cohesive community model of care and support for victims, bringing communities together while education and advocating to stop human trafficking. They provide supportive services for victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, by creating a strong network of frontline providers who offer safe housing, mental health counseling, medical assistance, chemical dependency treatment, transportation and other supportive services.

National Sexual Assault Hotline
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

SD Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault
SDAFVSA works together to promote victims’ rights for a safer South Dakota. Member programs employ and support individuals of all racial, social, religious and economic groups, ages, abilities, and lifestyles. The Network opposes the use of violence as a means of control over others and supports equality in relationships. All of the programs and services are rooted firmly in the belief that people victimized by crime have the right to assume power over their own lives by making informed choices regarding their empowerment journey.
